I think it was the USA CIA - they want regime change all over the middle east - they fucked it in Iraq and Afghanistan, killed over a million people and cost trillions. They were not going to do that again so pushing the govts out via social media is very cheap in terms of lives and money.

This is a normal post I caught the end of a program last night on BBC4
about this Iraqi Professor's work to try and repair the damage Saddam did to the Iraqi marshlands, his idea being to rejuvenate the area and make it a tourist destination, which was quite a strange concept given the film crew's security contingent was up to twelve vehicles long at times

This is a normal post Wilfred Thesiger's book "The Marsh Arabs"
is really good. About his travels in the Marshes of Iraq when they were still whole. Saddam did indeed destroy a lot of the habitat.

I think it was a lot like the time a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich because he was hungry...it sort of kicked it all off but didn't really have much to do with the real reasons. Which was probably power, money and oil (rather oil = power and money)
