I thought it was slightly amusing (in a troll the monarchists way), but I don't think there's been a rise in the thing she's complaining about. It's always been there.
Some of my niblings will be going to parties tomorrow with their deity-fearing parents (brandishing copies of The Servant Queen)
I've got mixed feelings about the utility of monarchy too, but I think the psychological / deference and superstitious aspects of it are pretty vile
