Yeah but I think it looks more like a lone wolf wanting to emulate ISIS in his rather sad, sick, fanboy way
rather than having any real dealings with the ISIS hierachy.

Most terrorist cells never allow contact beyond one or two levels. That is how they preserve themselves.
And ISIS has been calling for lone wolf attacks; combine that with the Orlando imam calling for the destruction of gays and it is a horrible stew of bad.
