As a Schizophrenic I find your viewpoint insulting, and overly simplistic.
All individuals are informed by the culture around them; and online gravitate towards cultures and cultural groups they feel agreement and a sense of identity with.
That is the nature of this kind of extremism. The "lone nutter" explanation is generally looked down on as an insufficient explanation - and I think that's the case here.
Hatred is never without a context, it is grown in a culture. Changing our viewpoints and explanations can help curb and understand events like this - even if we can't understand the people who do this sort of thing.

Don't get me wrong.
I'm not painting all schizophrenics as violent or aggressive individuals. But you're reaching a bit if you're trying to suggest that his schizophrenia had nothing to do with the attack. I'd hazard a guess that this particular individual's schizophrenia had very much to do with it.

I suppose;
we'll have to agree to disagree. That said; I wasn't worried about you painting schizophrenics as violent. I was worried about you painting them as not culpable for their own actions in all and any circumstances (a kind of "oh he's just a child in an adults body" viewpoint. That sort of view is only true under a certain set of conditions. At any rate; I think we all have a culpability to what sort of views with foster within our communities.
