Best thing people could do is to stop calling it "hunting". It's either conservation by locals, or responsible hunters with knowledge and respect for their local environment and the food they're hunting. Everything else is just a bullshit sport/hobby/entertainment for bored people with more money than imagination. Going halfway around the world for a canned hunt of a decrepit Lion is just fucked.
