This is a normal post Indeed. Theroux's at his best when
Ingratiating himself into distateful environments.

I think his work gets overlooked because of his celeb stuff, but I've been a fan of his for years. He disarms his subjects and gets them to talk, which is why his docs are so interesting.

watch the celeb ones (it's just more publicity for them) but I totally agree with you on the other stuff.

BTW: have you seen the Golden Compass yet?

I wonder what he's actually like, because his mannerisms imply he's absolutely harmless (which is why people seem to open up to him), so I wonder what sort of a person he is.
