Saw my first hedgehog in aaaaaages last night. A rustling in the back garden which I assumed might be a cat, I went to the back door to take a look and lo! a hedgehog just outside.

Fed it a bit of wet cat food, seemed happy to eat it. Hopefully I'll see it again some time.

Hedgehogs are a bit shit when it comes to survival so food and water is good. If you leave food out, they'll find it, the hard part is stopping the cats from scoffing it. I found the first one in the dead of winter in the middle of the path on its last legs, got it warm and watered then fed it and it keeps popping back, I need to take a torch to the garden or I'm scared I'll step on one. :-)

Just seen a squished hedgehog on the road nearby. Hoping I get a visitor tonight.

This is a normal post I'm not sure setting fire to your garden is going to do the hedgehogs much good...
