This is a normal post That looks like a proper laugh
Is there a class for these? I could be tempted if I ever left the house. :-)

This is a normal post Not sure what you mean by 'class' - it's not official Rbt Wrs so I think we'd rather stay under the radar!
The rules we use are that it has to fit in a cube of regular baseplates (256mm), weigh less that 1kg (including batteries), and only use official LEGO parts - the remote control is using the IR 'Power Functions' system and is only allowed to use two IR channels (four motor channels), which leaves the same for your opponent.

If you use fewer channels then you can have 3- or 4-way scraps. We tried running leagues and knock-outs, but it's more fun just to improvise the rounds. There's a mix of fairly tough contenders, and some designed just to destruct spectacularly.

This is a normal post looks like fun!
Lego is great for this, no chewed up parts, just reassemble and you're off again. :-)

This is a normal post It's rare, but it's possible to properly break stuff.
Usually self-inflicted though, like too much tension in a spring-loaded flipper snapping off an arm, or mashing your own gears when trying to push another robot.

And there are some weighty metal bits in the back-catalogue of LEGO (train, boat, counter weights etc.) that can add momentum and cause more damage. Someone built one that used its own battery box as a mallet.

This is a normal post That's a great idea!
Using the weight of the battery box is inspired!!

This is a normal post There is a rechargeable Li-Ion pack
But it has a very sensitive cut-out circuit if a motor gets stalled and the current goes shooting up, which can leave you a sitting duck.
The AAA battery box I use in Wreckasaurus cuts out near the end of his scrap. The only one that doesn't seem to cut out easily is the 6xAA box, but that's the heaviest of all.

This is a normal post There's more on there from the same YouTube account.
Like the time we just chucked ten robots in together and hang the control clashes.
It was a bit like the police car pile up in The Blues Brothers.
