Always funny to see people getting upset about Scotland being in the UK and simultaneously getting upset about the idea of Scotland leaving the UK...

This is a normal post Nah, but...
It's upsetting to see someone on television who likes to be part of a really big fruity club continually asking if they can leave another fruity club, without actually having the capability of being in either that big fruity club without being in the other smaller fruity club.

You understand like yeah, and r u still ok hun?

You're "upset" that Sturgeon is promoting the idea of an independent Scotland within the EU?
Why does that upset you?

This is a normal post I don't mind the SNP.
It's Sturgeon I can't fucking stand. Anybody who can't respect the outcome of vote they championed because its not the result they hoped for is a cunt.
Plus, we're not ready to be independent. Have you seen the Scottish Parliament in action? Jesus fucking Christ. What are we going to base out economy on? Shortbread and almost the best Whisky in the world? Brilliant idea, that.

This is a normal post I disagree.

Why would you try and base an economy on shortbread and whisky?
That just seems daft.

This is a normal post It's nothing but playing politics
Brexit is likely inevitable at this point, so playing for independence means it's possible to use the angle that you can worm your way back into the EU after. That covers the remain. Then there's the hard nationalists who fucking hate UK and England. They want oot and probably voted leave anyway. I'm not sure the Tories would be up for another Indie vote, but it's possible Labour could be convinced (depending on the election result obvs)

This is a normal post It is absolutely playing politics.
They stand on a platform of being the only ones who can stand up to the evil Tories in Westminster, but their success is the reason we've got a Tory government. The only party that can unseat the Tories is Labour, and they need the Scottish seats to be able to win an election.

Tactically it's really clever as it means the SNP get to have their cake and eat it. It probably isn't doing Scotland any good in the long run though as the SNP can just be marginalised as a minority party in Westminster.

While we're at it, how do nationalist parties like UKIP get such a hard time, but the SNP get a free pass?

I'm not aware of the SNP getting a "free pass"?
However the SNP have always promoted an inclusive, civic nationalism. That's why so many Scots of English origin have chosen to settle and build lives in Scotland. UKIP, in contrast, peddle an insular, xenophobic nationalism, based on fear of "the other".
It's not difficult to see the difference.

This is a normal post That vote wouldn't be asking the same question as the last vote though would it?
