The specific thing I linked to had a post calling people "retards".
It no longer does.

I'm sorry, I did not screenshot it before it was removed.

But have you tried logging out and seeing if whatever it is you're banging on about reappears?

That message is deeply insulting.
If I had any disability, I would not appreciate
my impairment being used to align me to the
Orange Buffon.

Maybe your are a bit of an educationally challenged person?
Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Joke aside, as I have stated above,
we should police ourselves.
Banning stuff and people instead of educating
is the American Way and in my opinion,
unproductive.
We should still make stupid comments but stay off the the obviously hurtful.
Howether, the easily offended brigade can go kiss donkey arse.

"Banning stuff and people instead of educating"
So it's OK to post child porn if we explain it's educating people not to do it?

And "hate speech" should be banned.
For example, promoting the idea of euthanising a group of people, such as a subset of handicap,
is criminal. Simple. Open close case.
Calling someone "retard" in the wrong context is stupid, and that people should be told why, and they should change their wording. If they chose not to, then it moves to banning/legal shit.
But the word "retard" should not be banned because it also a technical term for setting spark plugs (and other things) and if a trisomic person should chose to call me that, I would be honoured.
You can broaden our disagreement to other
offensive material, but where do we stop?
Lets argue about something specific, because
if we do not, it is Turtles all the way down.

We should probably stop using terms for female genitalia in a pejorative context, as it suggests the female reproductive system is abhorrent. But in that case, we should probably ban 'Cock'/'Dick'/'Nob', too. It wouldn't be right to suggest that the male reproductive system is somehow less worthy in that regard.
Perhaps we should just pre-emptively ban all nouns, just incase somebody weaponises the few innocuous examples we have left.

Hopefully with the people expressing toxic bigotry changing their behaviour to remain accepted in civil society.
