This is a normal post Having an interest in being 'on the right side of history' strongly suggests a desire to have a future.
and isn't staging mass protests and demonstrations 'the difficult work that would allow progress to be made'? Surely the difficult work is shaping public opinion to influence political policy to legislate against harmful practices?

I don't think Extinction Rebellion itself has as much to say about trans rights as their critics do.

This is a normal post That wasn’t the point.
The point is that by publicly denouncing anyone within their movement who isn’t on board with a niche cause, they are taking a movement that should be open to anyone who wants a future, and making it dependent on a narrow set of views that *arent* simply about the environment.

I don’t particularly think protests are hard work. The hard work is in persuading enough people to make actual change

This is a normal post That was the point that I responded to, and that was the way I responded.
I see no reference to trans people here: extinctionrebellion.uk/the-truth/about-us/

Apparently mumsnet are furious about a facebook post someone made that said ER stands with trans people against TERFs and media attacks. I'm not on mumsnet or facebook and I don't see why I should care about what happens in those places.

I'm also not afraid or threatened in any way by trans people. I am threatened, along with my entire ecosystem, by environmentally harmful practices. Opposition to harm against the planet is not conditional on some facebook user's opinion on trans rights.

WRT your comments about protests and convincing people to change, you seem confused. Protests do actually persuade people to change their minds.

The slavery abolitionists and campaigners for universal suffrage 'had their own fanatics' and faced criticism identical to yours.
