Gremlins was a fine children's movie, a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. Gremlins 2 was a cynical cash grab. Gremlins 3 would suck like new Ghostbusters, Tron, Star Wars, etc.

Maybe a streaming service could turn it into an award winning series that nobody watches, like Karate Kid.
