However, I did find the channelling of Churchill in his address to Parliament and his claiming that every day of the conflict in Ukraine being comparable to September 11th and Pearl Harbour while addressing congress to be a wee bit tacky. The audience seemed to dig it, though. So, who am I to judge?

Him banging on about a no fly zone (which would almost certainly bring about direct Russian-USA/UK conflict and risk huge escalation) like it's our fucking problem is starting to get on my tits.
They're not part of NATO, Russia seems too incompetent to invade any further so worst case Russia takes half of ukraine then goes home but WW3 is avoided.
I am sympathetic and very much appreciate the POV/drone war porn on reddit but please Zelensky stop going on about it quite so piously.

I don't recall there ever being an agreement that we would provide explicit military support. They aren't a member of the Super Best Friends.
We should absolutely send/provide humanitarian aid, including allowing refugees temporary asylum until this utter shitstorm blows over.
But even providing them with 'defensive' materiel (anti-tank weapons. etc) is a bit much, really. I can't help feeling that we're going to end up creating another Afghanistan if Ukraine survives. These weapons don't just magically despawn once Russia pulls back.
Mind you, the massive consumer price hikes on oil and gas aren't going to magically go away once the fistycuffs stop, either. When you consider the absolutely obscene amount of tax revenue the government is going to make from the huge margins on fossil fuels, it's no surprise that we're making this our business. I'd imagine the big oil and gas companies were immediately rubbing their hands together when they saw all this kick off.

That says we don't nuke them, exert economic pressure, threaten them with force and "Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used" which it isn't.
Russia also signed it....

1 Respect Belarusian, Kazakh and Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.[23]
2 Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine.
3 Refrain from using economic pressure on Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine to influence their politics.
4 Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
5 Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine.
6 Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.[19][24]

You should stop commenting on things you are obviously ignorant of.

You were arguing that nobody had heard of Ukraine before 20odd days ago. Your opinions are the same as the Trumpists and the Corbynites because you have been radicalised.
You think Russia didn't break part 2 of that treaty?
On the subject of you not knowing about Ukraine before the latest round of hostilities, do you remember your spiritual leader Trump breaking part 3 of that treaty and being impeached over it?

"Refrain", sweetheart. We've agreed to 'Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine'. Are you somehow misreading 'refrain from' as 'defend against'?
Or are you suggesting that Russia's breaking of that treaty is an automatic declaration of war against all the other signatories? How on earth could they have missed this?! You should probably alert the relevant nations immediately so we can begin the counter-offensive.
You're starting to sound upset. Maybe you should take a little break from the internet before you end up embarrassing yourself. Again. There's a good lad.

Take your own advice. You're a parody of yourself recently.
