Simply being alive at the moment burns dinosaur juice, washing your hair with most shampoos, eating vegetarian food that is fed with oil derived fertiliser, having the lights on in your house etc
Because of this, the power unit for the cycle also burns some dinosaur juice to keep it working. Nowhere near as much of course, but some. No matter how 'green' you are.
Sure, some people grow their own food organically etc and so don't contribute much at all, but then some cars run off solar power. I suspect a similar proportion of the larger number for each.
