Do you wire everything back to a board(s), or are the boards wired to banks of commandos for ease of use by others?

Depends...
But usually involves distros like this that provide 6x 16A feeds per socapex connector that are then split out to the relevant connectors, e.g. truecon, with each feed powering a row or column of video panels.

Oooo thats well interesting - never even considered the existance of proprietry connectors for such things, which is very dim of me. Thanks for the info and associated rabbit hole :)
