This is a normal post I find it bizarre that cynical nihilists like the MAGA Republicans worship Reagan.
Reagan was a demented racist arsehole but was something of an intellectual racist arsehole before his mental decline. He held court with Dick Cavett and Bill Buckley, and he had civilised debates with his political rivals. He would not have suffered fools like Trump or MTG.

Recency bias. They probably only remember late-stage supremely unhinged Reagan and think he was always like that.
