This Dick Holden bloke reminds me a lot of a scrubbed up Frank Hovis.

Number of state funded pupils = 7.25 million
The additional 40,000 pupils is about a 0.5% increase in numbers.
The average class size is 26.6/22.4 (primary/secondary) so class sizes will increase by 0.133/0.12 pupils!
WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!
*Facts made with 0.5% fun

It's the same in the States. Remember thinking it's all over world when Reagan got in but compared to the latest; Trump and associated cheerleading nut jobs we are really in dangerous times.

Reagan was a demented racist arsehole but was something of an intellectual racist arsehole before his mental decline. He held court with Dick Cavett and Bill Buckley, and he had civilised debates with his political rivals. He would not have suffered fools like Trump or MTG.

Recency bias. They probably only remember late-stage supremely unhinged Reagan and think he was always like that.

The ice in his veins. The question wouldn't have been much more inflammatory if he'd said "how do you feel about the people who say you're a total piece of shit?" yet without batting an eyelid he answers the stock party line.
Lucky he really cares about the people or having such folk in charge might lead to trouble.
