This is a link post Conservative Wipeout Bingo I made this!
Randomly generated bingo cards for election night fun!

Reload to generate a new card. Should show you a random dupe-free assortment from the 270 Conservatives that are standing for re-election, in alphabetical order. It's amazing how much javascript, html and css you can forget if you take a decade off from making web pages.

This is a normal post Thanks
No betting on it if you're one of them though.

This is a normal post Seems to not be that random
I keep getting Theresa Coffey in the top right square and Michael Tomlinson in the bottom middle over and over, I have spotted some others that appear far too often while I F5'd over and over to get a card with Jacob Rees Mogg on it., who finally appeared about 40 pages in.

Love the idea though

This is a normal post I think that's just bad luck
Rees-Mogg has a 1 in 11 chance of appearing each time you reload. The randomness is a bit shonky though. To make sure there are no dupes, it's picking from 10 or 11 possibilities for each of the 24 squares (270 Conservatives are standing for reelection) so on average you'll get a couple that don't change when you do a reload.

This is a normal post Gotcha
seemed to be something like that because they always appear on the same square

This is a normal post Why not:
Pick one of 270, remove it, pick one of the remaining 269, remove it, etc.?
No need to limit each to a particular square.

This is a normal post Because
Ideally, yes, but this was way simpler to code and I'd already wasted most of Saturday making 270 single-use jpgs of doomed Conservatives and fighting HTML's unwillingness to scale images nicely.

Btw, if anyone wants to do a better back-end they're welcome to the jpgs. It would be good if the cards were generated with unique permanent URLs and you could click to toggle a big "X" on each picture to mark them off on the night, but that was well beyond my coding skills.

This is a normal post For my needs (which is a communal drinking game)
I just refreshed until who I wanted was on the screen, saved that image, rinse repeat until I had all the favourites, then generated a random set, saved it as a PDF, loaded that into photoshop and chopped in the ones I wanted. Then I had one card with all the 'best' ones on, like Mogg, Sunak, Patel, Braverman, Hunt, Francois, Shapps and printed that off lots of times to give to everyone. When one of them loses a seat, everyone drinks.

I still love it as it is, it's awesome

This is a normal post Good to see my odious MP "I'm betting £8k I'll lose" Davies on there
At a recent hustings, an audience member said "I asked you a question by email, and in your reply you called me a moron. Why did you do that?". Unfortunately his squirming wasn't caught on camera. A friend once said "I'm blue through and through, but I can't bring myself to vote for that c**t".
