Remember when Google was actually useful and returned appropriate results on the first page? Well, this can't solve that, but at least it can remove all the AI garbage, sponsored links, and other unnecessary fluff from your searches.
How it works

Can you not just swap to Firefox? Been a while since I used a Mac, but I'm sure it was fine with it.

Last time I tried it took up too much screen space and it wasn’t as snappy as Safari. My ad-blocker only misses a couple of sites so it’s not a big problem.

Search.
Not sure about Chrome these days, there are ways to do it.

You have to set a flag to make the settings editable.

In firefox, go to about : config (no spaces).
Create a new entry called "browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh" and set it to "true".
This allows you to create a custom search entry in Settings, Search.
Make one called "Google NoAI" or something, and use this URL in the "Engine URL" box:
www.google.co.uk/search?q=%s&udm=14
Save, then set it as the default.
