I met Oliver Postgate once
He told me the talking Major Clanger says "Sod it, the bloody thing's stuck again" referring to a door in season 2 that he tries to open and kicks. Also, Bagpuss was supposed to be blue, but there was a problem with the dye, and they had no money to fix it.
