are charismaless incompetent fuckwits who will repel all but the most strident racist twat.
You'll never put those off, like you say, there is always a queue of people who want simple, vindictive, answers to complex questions, but politics is determined by swing voters.
Feckless and weak of mind, your average swing voter follows the pendulum of public opinion, and they need a charismatic leader to follow like Farage, Trump, or Hitler.
Take them out of the picture and it is far more likely that the party will fade away into a bubbling sea made from their fuckups and scandals.
