perhaps we need a better GC detector
it might be a simple as a keyword search on similar link titles.
The exact link match isn't really working for video sites, as the same video is uploaded multiple time to multiple video sites.

The reason it doesn't work is because
(I assume anyway) that it just compares the URL string. Thanks to every man and his dog faithfully replicating all the popular videos on youtube, and then said videos popping up on other sites, and back on youtube again, each video has a million urls you can view it from.
Not much the GC detector can do about that. Keywords is no good as most people just write an irrelevant (omg have you see this) type description, which would bypass that.
Not to worry though, there's plenty of folks here who have not much more to do that shout GC at the slightest provocation. (And whom, I suspect, don't even know the origin of the GC phrase, or properly appreciate that it means everybody is likely to have seen something before, not just them.)
