I think the thing that worries me is that kids aged around 12-14 were too young to remember "trance" music the first time around - and it seems it might all be coming back.
The UV / glow stick thing is particularly sad, much like Heavy Metal fans head banging with long greasy hair and denim jackets plastered with hand drawn band names (or worse, huge sewn on patches) and vaguely S&M studded belts - these things should remain UNCOOL.
Dancing round like a monkey, making box shapes with your hands was never cool.

especially when UV light magically made ladies underwear stand out under their clothes - it also made your teeth yellow and all the fluff on your clothes stand out.
Just heard that "lager lager lager" Underworld Born Slippy song in the cafe on Radio 1 - that's 12 years old that track, at least.
Off for an afternoon nap now, its all too much.

I started noticing how loud the music in trendy clothes shops is.

Then I nearly coughed up a lung, sat back down in my comfy chair, put a blanket on my knee and reminisced again about the good old days.

Pretty much every girl wore those though.
That and the knotted Bjork style hair.
God - it's all coming back to me now!

Spending all day Sunday in bed cos I'd be dancing the night away the previous night. You were allowed to smoke in those places too!

went to many a helter skelter though.
we used to order tickets on the day from ticketmaster, which meant we had to pick them up on site... from the vip entrance, meaning you skipped the 3 hour queue. dunno why more people didnt do it, oh well :D

Isn't it a bit like my older sister still going to see The Damned / The Stranglers now?

well actually you are quite wrong. Trance the "first" time round consisted of goa trance and acid fueled hippies, no gay attire in sight.
Trance has never gone away and is growing in popularity all the time ;) It's also allot better now than it was back then thankfully.

I've been telling this to my friend for ages, who sadly is the press officer for Municipal Waste. Burdened with the unnenviable task of spending the last 2+ years trying to make this lot look cool & 'bring back Thrash'...
