It appears that a lot of record producer Timbaland's chart smashes have been ripped off from other peoples music.
Nut just sampling, clearing and licensing other peoples music like Fatboy Slim or someone similar would do, but he is actually ripping other peoples music and claiming it as his own work.
This is a pretty boring rant but I found it a little disheartening.

"This Is Interesting". And pretty fucking shameless.
Always thought Timbaland was pretty damned talented. What a shame.

But where is the proof that he hasn't cleared the samples? Well, he explains it in the end, but its still no proof.

bit like us taking someone else's work and messing about with it, then when it goes down super well, re-creating it in such a way that we don't get sued by the BBC or tread on another b3tans toes or whoever.
It's not super-crime and probably not his intent to fuck with these people but rather to just be able to get his musical mashes out there with minimal fuss and payouts, however, NOW that he's got super wealthy and gained uber kudos from it, that's where it goes bad and folks will get pissed off, 'cos that should be partially they're money and kudos for making the original piece he copied.
He should just admit it and apologise, say he fucked up, pay the folks he nicked the work off their dues, and then continue in that vein for his future works, 'cos we're all used to music makers using samples these days, there's no shame in it if you do it properly.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Timbaland_plagiarism_controversy looks like he's decided to be a god-complex jerk and throw his lawyers at it instead tho, what a prick.
