This is a link post How big is the BP oil spill off the Louisiana coast?
This site lets you compare it to any place in the world using Google Earth. For UK reference, I've mapped it over Guernsey.

I can't believe at the rate the well is leaking, that there has been so little coming ashore as yet. Once hurricane season comes, the environmentalists will be very worried.
