...also went to the ruins of several of the extermination camps like Sobibor, not much left there now as they were much smaller, much easier to demolish and were running on what was basically a skeleton crew (boom boom...no, but really) as they didn't have to keep anyone there. Only reason Auschwitz I and II are so famous is because they were work camps and were still taking huge numbers of people right up 'til the end of the war, so they actually have survivor accounts.
Couldn't go to quite a few of them, but went to the mass grave shooting sites where the rest of my family dug and were then executed. The soil around the pits was very, very black, but the trees seemed happy. I like the trees.
Weirdly, my cousins' old house is now an STA centre

Oswiecsiem or something in Polish, went there back in the early 90's. Quite chilling. I found it unreal that they had turned it into almost a theme park - there was a fast food joint being built when I was there. It brought the reality of the whole horribleness to me, I was surprised how upsetting I found it as I'm normally cynical. what's an STA centre?

they are used as the example because to the quality of what remains, they raise the issue.
Auschwitz particularly because it basically has it "all"..
anyway.. gives me the chills thinking about it again.

Everyone Draw Mohamed Day...
Its a 'it didnt happen' event. A kneejerk reaction.
Short story:
Muslims pissed over Draw Mohamed day. Get page taken down and an apology from the author.
Muslims put up this page, campaign AGAINST free speech also, yet it is free speech which is allowing the page to stay up.
I would like to say 'petty tittle tattle' but better not.

At a university in America (cant remember which one) the kids were drawing Mohamed (the prophet) as stick men with smiley faces, and Mohamed written underneath. The muslims were goring around these, putting boxing gloves on the hands and writing 'Ali' after the name.
Point = gotten.
