call new users spammers unless they are trying to sell you something or posting something completely irrelevant to b3ta's tone.
There's some good jokes here, so it would be sad if they were put off joining in more after an unfair flaming.
Surely it's good that people who make funny stuff are attracted here?

I agree, however, I have seen too many times this sort of thing turn sour. And I havent called spam, just wished it wasnt. I have welcomed him and gave a few pointers. Which is nice for me, I normally start off by swearing :-)

I've just seen a few new members get unfairly flamed for promoting stuff recently.
Even if they don't want to join in, I think it's fair enough if they want to show off something they've made as long as they've taken time to judge the tone of the site and think we'd like it. You can usually tell if they've just typed "comedy forum" into Google and are posting it everywhere as they'll post on the main board, not the links board.
That said, I'm more than happy to see any marketing companies' cynical attempts to get a free advert ripped into.
