Architect of Big Society finds volunteering for 3 days per week a bit too much to ask.
Gem of a metaphor for the whole steaming heap that is Big Society.

I thought the Government push for volunteering was aimed at people out of work.
Not someone with a desk in the cabinet? (although I'm ready to be proved totally wrong)
I'm staggered that Lord Wei is able to do any voluntary work at all.
I struggle to fit in 2 days of voluntary work a week and I'm a student!

In that case, I was totally wrong.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Although, presumably if it was already possible for working people to volunteer their time, there wouldn't be any need for someone to find ways to allow people to do it... OH WAIT!
ZING!

personally i think they're tripping
and mixing up the voluntary sector with volunteering. there are loads of qualified professionals working in the voluntary sector and in public sector jobs. untrained volunteers are not going to be able to replace them.
