Apols if GC, is from a coupla of months back
Evan Emory is the kid who filmed himself singing to some kids and then re-edited the video so it looked like he was singing a sexually explicit song to children. He posted this video on Youtube.
But some of the conditions of his sentence are unreal, and, I believe, unduly harsh. This was bad-judgement by a 21 yr old, maybe a bit on sense could have prevailed at sentancing.

Fucking disgusting. I read earlier that his sentence could've been a LOT longer at he should've been glad of 60 days.
Absolute lunacy.

He was old enough to realise they were children and should not be associated with sexuality, what was he thinking would be 'funny ' in the first place. He got off lightly

"60 days in jail, two years probation, 200 hours of community service, mandatory counseling and fines and costs (As part of a condition to his probation, Emory can’t be within 500 feet of any venue where children under the age of 17 gather)" is not getting off lightly.
He edited a video to make it look like he was singing a risqué song in front of children.
That he even went to court for that is fucking absurd. Thank fuck Chris Morris wasn't born American.

on here a while back when it all kicked off. I wish mini-me had been in it. I would have shown it at family parties and had everyone laughing.
It's fucking ridiculous.

I'm still struggling to work out why what he did is even a crime. Granted its tasteless and I wouldn't choose for my child to be in a vid like that, but there's no way those kids lives have been affected in anywhere near the way his will be by going to jail.
Just checking tho, it was just "sexually explicit" and not him going "oooh yeah, I'd love to fuck a 6 year old, yeah baby".
Cos I hate that song.

What a disgusting shower of artless, book-burning cunts. I'm lost for words. Unbelievable.

I'm assuming that either A: this was a video edited to appear as though he was singing live, but he actually wasn't, or B: He sang it live to the classroom.
If 'A', how is that worthy of being a punishable offence? He broke no laws I've ever heard of, it's nuts.
If 'B', wtf did he think he was doing? Of course you will get a lot of upset people, though I'm not sure that the punishment really fits the crime, seems a bit excessive.

edit: although it's slightly more complicated than that.
He recorded himself singing a nice song to the kids, then recorded a naughty version to an empty room. Then spliced em up.

he sang a song live in front of the kids. Then edited a different song in with the kids reactions to the original one. He didn't make it clear to the school what he would do with the video once it was taken, which was a silly mistake, but they were never exposed to any 'harmful' lyrics.
The parents are mainly angry about their kids 'images' being used without permission in such a way. But the punishment in my mind, does NOT fit the 'crime'.
