Women, know this: struggling to stand out from the crowd? Simply become a geek. Become conversant in Sci-Fi, comics or video games (ideally all three) and be idolised by legions of relatively intelligent men with reasonably well-paid jobs.
Not that I think the sudden apparition of all these so-called 'geek grrls' is any kind of cynical ploy for attention or anything...
