at no point,
has having design blindness stopped me progressing through my carreer, but i have had many a conversation with others along the lines of "theres no idea in this thing...im going to have to design the shit out of it"
i figure it to be a bit like fashion... it changes so often because its not an actual thing.
i've you had used a hand drawn font you'd be flavour of the month for a month.... before someone had a go at you for being to "retro"
fuck design...i prefer ideas.

I see this attitude a lot in my line of work
Lots of talk about the process of doing things, and not enough actual doing.
I liken it to someone peddling really fast on a bike, but the bike is being lifted up so that the wheels don't touch the floor. Lots of effort in the peddling, but nothing is actually being achieved.

I'm not being a cunt... all that logo comprises of is:
- Text
- Line
- Fades
- Lens flare
Which can pretty much all be achieved by using drop down menus alone.
...and when you consider the obvious talent BM has, it just frustrates me that he doesn't spend a comparable amount of time/effort on the logo as he does to his videos AND that he just poo-poos any constructive criticism of it. GAH!

and the only reason people are vocal about it here is because we can see the disparity and would love to see it rectified... constructive criticism and all that.

If the video is the cake, and the logo is part of the video, then it's also part of the analogous cake... the box would be the web page around the video, surely?
Anyway, it makes no difference to my life how the box/cake/logo looks... the only reason I've said anything at all is because I've seen others offer friendly constructive criticism about it, on this vid and others, only to have it thrown back into their faces in an "LAH LAH LAH, I'M NOT LISTENING, I KNOW BEST" stylee!
As I said above... frustrating!

What I do, I do it for me.
That, I have found is the best way to work. I'm not going to change what I do to please others. As with any product, some people will like it, some will not. If you don't, don't watch it and don't subscribe to my YouTube channels. If you do then watch this space, there's more to come.
