Yeh I dunno about some of the casting myself, but I guess they wanted relative unknowns
And it's always hard to marry that with good big screen performances.

I recognised no one but David, as I don't do soaps n similar. Which is what I'm assumin The Wire is.
Possibly his lacklustre performance was due to Ridleys more relaxed involvement as a director these days, he used to micromanage his actors, the live track you can only hear on the original Alien DVD demonstrates how he got a performance out of Sigourney who was apparently useless at the time, but word has it he leaves actors to it now, mayhaps this chap just didn't gel with the role?

it's fucking outstanding.
He may well have not gelled with the role, but then who is going to turn down the chance of working with Ridley Scott in a film like that. :D

I know it's weird but I simply can't seem to be bothered with any new fictional universes now, certainly not as shown on TV
But you can get the Boxset at any point with these things once they're a known quantity so I might invest in it for some Xmas hols or something n get into it late...
