the first one I was WAAYYYY too young... and the second - I remember having this on VHS before it was out in the cinema...
In my 8 year old mind, I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about ('Yeah... and... it's been out for AAAGES! what do you mean "It's just come out"???')

Your parent or guardian was a video pirate.
I remember seeing this in the cinema for my brother's birthday. Even at a young age I could tell it wasn't a patch on the first film.

The bloke recording it started off in the wrong screen and when it started it was Three Men and a Little Lady. He managed to also record his trip back out into the corridor and into the correct screen.
I watched Home Alone so many times with that beginning that it started to feel like part of the film.

like when you accidentally press record instead of just play on old tapes, which inevitably leaves an audible click of some sort...
when you finally get that song on mp3/cd you miss the click :(
