Quite dark for a kids film I always thought. As a kid I remember being truly shocked after the death trawl on the opening scenes.

This is a normal post I had never cried at a film before, ever.
until I saw Optimus Prime die. I wasn't the same little boy for weeks and needed to be told that it wasn't real and if it was, he wasn't really dead. (I guess my mum had access to the scripts of the third series of the cartoon because she was righton both accounts.)

This is a normal post Yeah I remember sitting with my toys thinking 'they're... all... dead...' :-(
Amazing to think it all boiled down to just reintroducing new toys, I doubt they had any idea it would have such a devastating effect!
