I'm always puzzled by what constitutes "sanity" in these cases...
Shooting 70 kids and showing no remorse...I find it hard to believe that "evil" exists, surely anyone who does something like this must have a broken mechanism.

Sane means he was fully aware of and responsible for his actions
He wasn't hearing voices or seeing the kids he shot as blue space aliens.
Just because you can't imagine doing what he did doesn't mean he's medically unhinged.

With the carefull planning, tact an finesse with which he execute his plans
you could argue that he's saner than many other people.
"Sane" and "adjusted to society" are two completely different things.

There s a logic to what he did though.
From his POV the left wing politicians let the foreigners in and he didn't like foreigners very much. These politicians were teaching the next generation their political ideas at the summer camp and he didn't want the next generation of politicians to let even more in, so he killed them.
See, it's logical.
