I had the same reaction when I heard.
I know its budget is like half a billion dollars or something, so they'll want their money back and then some, but three films? LOTR is 1000 pages, the Hobbit is a couple of hundred...

I've worked on merchandise for the film and had access to a bit more info than has been released.
It looks ok but if you treat the book as canon you're going to get upset.
