Most of the point of the books is Pullman's absolutely fantastically eloquent contempt for religion.
I'll still go watch it. They deserve to be realy popular then, so people will go and buy the books

the church did try to ban the books. and failed as they have no authority on these things. another reason why im not watching it, wonder whne the next trilogy is out...
