This is a normal post I knew

Looks less medieval than I imagined it.

This is a normal post The armor was rusty because it had been taken from him
he cleaned it up later.

This is a normal post Oh please let it be fantastic
I saw them filming in Oxford - the crew said good things about the quality of the acting, but wouldn't tell us anything more than that

This is a normal post Sadly the Merkin studio execs have removed most of the religious stuff
for fear of offending stupid intolerent people.

I daresay they'll remove the underage sex from book three too.

IT'S POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GORN MAAAAD!

This is a normal post Oh piss have they?
Most of the point of the books is Pullman's absolutely fantastically eloquent contempt for religion.
I'll still go watch it. They deserve to be realy popular then, so people will go and buy the books

This is a normal post well
the church did try to ban the books. and failed as they have no authority on these things. another reason why im not watching it, wonder whne the next trilogy is out...

This is a normal post How the hell can they remove the religious stuff?
The baddy is God for fuck's sake. Are they going to replace him with Captain Evil or something? Also why the fuck is it the Golden Compass? Can Hollywood executives not understand the concept of Northern Lights, like they can't understand the concept of a Philosopher's Stone?

On a side note, I was in this film. Had to be a student for a big hallway scene. Was talking to the bloke next to me and unwittingly muttered 'I'd do er, mwuh hurr hurrr' at the same time as Nicole Kidman passed behind me, apparently she turned round and gave me an unnerved look.

Also I'm a gibbon.

This is a normal post Fuck yeah!
Well the first book was great at least (bit like LotR in that respect), and they seem to be trying to do it justice.

This is a normal post If it's as good as the adaptations of LoTR
Then I may implode with bliss.

This is great - from the trailer it looks promising, hope Lyra isn't too precocious. Also the daemon creator said I was a fucking crow - bah!
