Billy 2.0 - Two steps forward two steps back
I made this!
New Update. I'm hearing lots more stuff, but I'm having trouble understanding it in the way I used to... which is complicated.
So it's been a month of mixed emotions for me - some thoughts here if anyone's interested wlmager.com/two-steps/

Sounds very frustrating.
From the early parts of that post I did think you were descending into a pit of despair, but you become more rational and suss what's ahead. I believe it's natural to have high hopes, so when the test doesn't go as you like it to disappointment is sure to follow. I do feel you'll crack it though.

Genuinely interesting read that until I read it first time I had no particular interest in. Fascinating stuff, and it comes with a montage at the end too!
Thanks, and please keep us updated.

I read your stuff with great interest.
One of my brothers is profoundly deaf, and he experienced something similar when he switched from analogue to digital hearing aids - totally overwhelmed by the additional sounds he was picking up, and it affected his ability to lip read. However, some years later he is so used to them that recently he had some older hearing aids while he was being upgraded to some even smarter new digital ones. He hated the old ones, really, really hated them, and was incredibly frustrated that the new ones were delayed. He's got the new ones now and is a different person.
So, fingers crossed you'll experience something similar - a long period of difficult adjustment, but eventually you wouldn't go back.
