She was one of those rare cases where people make life-changing amounts of money, but use it for good. The Imagination Library is such a brilliantly simple and yet so profoundly right idea.
We lived in Southwark when my son was very little, so we benefitted from the Imagination Library and some of my most treasured memories from when he was little is reading those books with him.
I have nothing but respect for her.

KEXP turned into a complete Dollython last night.
I immediately thought it'd be tiresome as fuck, but it was bloody lovely. As wonderfully talented as I'm aware she was, I always kind of perceived her as being a big-boobed novelty act for the most part - probably due to being a British child of the '80s and not having much in the way of real exposure or inclination towards country music growing up. Some of her less-well known stuff is properly brilliant.
