There are some errors here. Firstly, the first part is blackened-death metal. Whilst the second half is in the major scale of the same key, it's not the same song. The first version actually changes to the diminished in the middle (i.e. it has an aug 4th/dim 5th which neither the harmonic or melodic minor scales have, as well as it having a diminished 2nd in the final part. By contrast, the major one has major 2nds and 3rds as it should do, but the bass chord progression is Bach standardised (I, IV, V) orientated.
In other words, he's completely over-egging it.
I would record the major version for you to demonstrate, but once again I've had a tad too much to drink and I just cannot be arsed.
