In The Curious Incedent of the Dog in the Nightime
Christopher mentions looking left, right and left again before crossing.
I'm American, and that always bothered me, because I thought in the UK it must be right, left, and right again. Now I'm sure of that. Haha
Maybe an American proof reader changed it. I don't know, but it still bothers me.
So does trying to picture the intersection of three rods at a right angles. Is it a sphere?? It must be sphere, right? If you take away everything else that isn't common to all three rods, right?

It's another reference to the book. The kid relaxes by trying to imagine the shape that would be formed by the intersection of three rods of equal diameter, intersecting at right angles.
