This is a link post Receptive Aphasia.
A very weird psychomotor condition where the patient is able to construct a coherent speech in their minds, are able to speak normally, but words come out from their mouths in the form of gibberish without them realizing it.

and easy to spot if you want to minimize the damage

This is a normal post I have aphasia following a stroke
although I've had loads of speech therapy it still occurs sometimes, especially if I'm being interrupted or made to talk in a hurry.

I often say words that rhyme with what I actually wanted to say

that in some cases of aphasia, people do find it more easy to understand and make themselves intelligible if the words come out in verses and rhymes, like song lyrics.

This is a normal post My mum has it also but with the added awefulness of early dementia.
It is absolutely gut wrenchingly cruel.
