This is a link post Tour of the Moon, as seen by the Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter
It's 1080p so whack it on full-screen. It's hard to judge the scale - for example, the Shackleton Crater is about 13 miles wide, and Tycho is over 50 miles wide. It's amazing to see Apollo 17 just chilling out there.
The LRO has been orbiting the Moon since 2009, just 12 miles above the surface - so moving at about 3600 mph. It's mapping out the surface, and identifying resources that we might use when we're back there.
Edit: Small channel, 400 views, nice guy, give him a few subs if you like it, would mean a lot right now. BertieSlack - I've invited him to b3ta to say hi.

Mad, did you see the (v short vid) "Moon zoom" thing I posted some weeks ago?
Is great for getting a perspective on why we can't see the Apollo stuff from Earth. (It's made by mungling images from Earth telescopes and images from LRO).
IDK if you're technical or interested... I think it's fun because a LOT of people find it hard to understand why we can't see the lunar modules, when we can see stars billions of light-years away. Which is quite understandable. A hell of a lot of misconceptions about science are due to the difficulty in understanding scale.
Aaaaaaanwho, I won't rabbit on too much, unless you want to know more.

This is a normal post That video does illustrate the point well
Be even better if it then zoomed out again.
