Felt like it was setting up a lot of threads and substituting sudden drama for, you know, drawing them together at all.
Maybe I just have a short attention span. It was a few years ago, mind. I'll try it again.

I do remember the first few chapters were heavy going. There was an awful lot of setup, and digressions into the background of SAC and the like. However it all helps set the scene and when he starts to ramp the tension up you get a real feel for how desperate the situation was becoming and how brave some of the actions taken to try and resolve it really were.
