This is a link post 謎の遊具
The algorithm strikes again. The title translates roughly to "mysterious play equipment".

This is a normal post not sure what triggers it, this evening has featured poledancing and lingerie clad divers in what can only be described as OnlyFins
though the small jet powered underwater propulsion device looked fun

This is a normal post Those big torpedo ones look impressive.
Though it's only a matter of time with any of them before the seawater gets in and turns the batteries into either mush or something that goes BANG.

This is a normal post Ah, you mean the discrete body-mounted ones
That cost four grand, for the ability to propel slender waifs in circles for sometimes the entire 30 seconds of a GoPro video on TikTok between charges?

This is a normal post I had no idea of the cost, sounds overpriced, the rest pretty much yes.
Had the impression that there will exist bigger things that do the job better. That said they probably have some uses, especially if they could be used, easily detached and recovered.

This is a normal post There are plenty of bigger hang-onto type ones.
From half to a few grand and upward. More power and battery life.
But I gather from divers that have tried them, it's generally a lot less hassle to just swim where you want to go.

I think if they're not in widespread use in commercial diving or the military, it suggests they're not actually that useful.
