It just seems a bit Clockwork Orange....Kubrick personally stated that after the controversy, he didn't want the film released in the UK. About a week after his death, they announced it would be released in the UK.
I'm certain that Hart had stated that if anyone ever made Morph into a bookend, he would go on a killing spree. Now he's dead, Morph is a bookend, and Harts paintings will be on T shirts.

Kubrick withdrew the film after himself and his family received death threats, requesting it not be shown until after his death, which it was.
