This is a question Parents

"They fuck you up, your mum and dad" said Philip Larkin. Did he have a point? Perhaps yours are merely horrendously embarrassing? Or are you yourself that embarrassing or terrible parent? No tedious McCannery or nonce strikethroughs please, ffs.

Parents Day
When I was about 10 my Dad came downstairs wearing a fire-engine red, wide collared, disco-style shirt, to take me to parents evening. It was ridiculous. I begged him not to wear it but he did.

He also then wore the same shirt, once a year, for every parents evening from that year until I left school, despite putting on about 7 stone over decade, so his belly potruded through the gaps between the buttons.

Wanker-move, but I will do the same when I have kids, no doubt.

Trolling your own child is one of the few remaining pleasures in life.

As far as I can see it's one of the few perks of having children.

Watching their reaction as you write the stupid, self-obsorbed pricks out of your will is another high point.

If they haven't managed to pack you off to dignitas before you had chance to change your will they clearly don't deserve it.
