This is a question Abusing freebies

A friend of mine recently attended a 'Champaign Lunch', where he was compelled drink as much fizzy stuff as he could between the first and last courses. In an ideal world we'd ask restaurant staff to tell us stories about fatties stuffing themselves at All You Can Eat places, but we recognise that our members don't all work in the catering trade, so for the rest of you - tell us something about abusing freebies. BTW: Bee puns = you fail.

I honestly believe
that the British and their relationship with alcohol are more like the Vikings than our continental cousins. Anyone stupid enough to run an event with a free (unlimited) bar is asking to have it abused because the British just do not know how to behave when it comes to alcohol.
Every time I go over to Amsterdam I think how cool it would be to have the same set-up over here (apart from the prostitutes which I could do without) but realise, sadly, it would never happen because we just don't know how to handle ourselves. We can sneer at the continentals, but they know how to have fun without getting stupidly fucked. We on the other hand generally behave like monsters and then moan that we get treated like such. I guess I'm just lucky - behaving like an animal on booze never appeals to me. But get a bunch of Brits together, add alcohol and there's always one arsehole (at least) who will fuck it up for everyone. It might make for amusing stories on this site, but not being able to handle your alcohol might be acceptable when you're a teenager - in a grown man or woman it's not something to be proud of and personally I'd stop drinking if I found it got me as stupidly fucked up as it does many people. Maybe I'm just lucky...and no, I'm not a boring twat, far from it. Just someone who's idea of a good night doesn't involve a trip to A&E or a night in the cells.
