This is a question Accidental animal cruelty

I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.

Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

No really accidental but...
I have a penchant for kicking my cats up the bum. Their always in my way for Gods sake.

I try not to do that
but Josephine insists on winding through my ankles when I'm in the kitchen, and that tends to make it hard when I try to take a step.

You'd think that after being kicked and trod upon a few dozen times she'd learn her lesson, but nooooo...

Is it cruel?
Depends if they keep coming back knowing they're going to get a foot up the bum.

I used to wind up my ex wife's cat Stinky Jasmine by chasing her round the house ostensibly to kick her - of course I'd never do such a cruel thing. Jazzy used to run round the house at a half trot speed knowing that she wasn't going to get booted but instead enjoying the game.

When I did corner her she'd roll on her back, meeow and demand I tickled her furry belly.

Lovely cat, but my word she stank to high heaven.

My cat
tends to lurk on the stairs and generally needs a 'nudge' up the backside to get him to move...
